The Great Walser Valley can officially call itself a biosphere park, which indicates a high quality of life. For centuries, however, the population had to solve manifold problems in order to exist at all. The inhabitants are still exposed to geographical, economic and social extremes that differ from other regions. This interesting field of tension, from the settlement of the valley to the present, is the subject of an exhibition and themed tour in the Museum Großes Walsertal.
